Description

We are looking for a Research Scientist Technical Writer with experience in scientific research methods who will be responsible for writing technical proposals, drafting journal and conference papers and preparing research reports for Data science and AI projects. The role also involves conducting literature reviews, responding to government RFI’s and RFP’s and collaborating with the technical research team to remain informed on our latest technical capabilities.

As a Research Scientist Technical Writer, you will:

  • Write technical proposals for Data Science and AI projects, ensuring alignment with solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria.
  • Draft journal and conference papers that communicate research findings and innovations to the scientific community.
  • Prepare comprehensive research reports, including status updates and final findings, for ongoing and completed projects.
  • Conduct thorough literature reviews to identify knowledge gaps, inform research direction, and support proposal development.
  • Respond to government Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by developing targeted documentation and supporting materials.
  • Collaborate closely with the technical research team to stay updated on the latest capabilities, ensuring proposals and reports reflect current expertise and innovations.
  • Design and execute research studies, interpret results, and provide solutions to scientific questions relevant to Data Science and AI.
  • Integrate research findings into production environments by working with Data Scientists and Program Managers.
  • Draft workplans and scope of work statements in collaboration with subject matter experts, describing technical solutions for proposals.
  • Attend meetings with client technical contacts to fully understand their needs and requirements for proposals and reports.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a Science, Technology or Mathematics discipline.
  • Proven Experience as a Research Scientist.
  • Practical relevant experience in the field is required.
  • Analytical and problem–solving skills to develop studies and draw conclusions from gathered data.
  • Strong documentation and communication abilities for various audiences.
  • Experience submitting winning proposals to two or more federal government agencies.
  • Mathematical skills to perform calculations and analyze data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in scientific methodologies.
  • Understanding laws and regulations related to scientific research safety.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
