Description
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Facility Security Officer (FSO) with some experience in Human Resources Management. This role will require the applicant to act independently and with discretion in managing the company's security-related manners related to defense contracting. You will be responsible for standing up and maintaining the FCL for a possessing facility, and ensuring sustained compliance of security documentation for other cleared individuals within the company. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in facility security operations. The candidate will be leading as well and directing the routine functions of the Human Resources department.
- You will oversee and refine employee procedures and suggest improvements to internal operating activities, keeping in mind existing HR guidelines.
- You will implement and improve employee benefits programs, including health, compensation, insurance and other HR functions.
- You will guarantee compliance with national and local HR Strategy by conducting detailed investigations and maintaining records and ensuring compliance with local and federal employment laws.
- You will manage personnel clearance applications, including CAC (Common Access Card) applications.
- You will interface with government contacts on security matters, such as contacts at DCSA and contract POCs.
- You will maintain security documentation internally and through DISS/NISS.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
- A minimum of three years in human resources management experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is desired.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a facility security role supporting government contracts or defense contractors.
- Familiarity with processes relevant to maintaining a facility clearance (FCL).
- Completed relevant STEPP training for a possessing facility.
- Ability to travel (<10% time).
- Active/current security clearance at T3 level or higher.
- In-depth knowledge of NISPOM, DCSA, DISS, NISS, and related federal security standards.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn, and adaptability to understand and create new procedures.
